The Carillon lock is impressive for its height but do not be intimidated by its size, it is really easy to use.
Let yourself be guided by the lock master and attach your boat to the dock . The dock follow the water level. If the dock is filled, the lock master will ask you to position yourself on the shoulder of another boat.

Bonhomme Bay, Ottawa River June 8th 2013
Bonhomme Bay is located in the ESTportion of the Ottawa river, you will find on starboard towards the Carillon dam.
It is an ideal bay for mooring, no matter how bad is the temperature you will be well protected. It would be better to follow an experienced captain before you try to enter the bay for the first time as the entrance is somewhat risky because of shallow water. It is possible to get ice supply and other basic groceries in the Voyageur campground.
